PIXEL’s Electric Utility Mapping Service and solution is a GIS enabled solution implemented for the client to efficiently manage and maintain the Electric Distribution Network data and physical assets.
Spatial / Aspatial Data Capture
PIXEL expertise on Data Capture processes utilizing our state of the art ODC in India, allowed for a systematic capturing of network inventory data, in-line with the target system utilized by clients.
Data Capture Documentation

The Data captured was carefully documented by our teams for further benefit & future analysis by the client.
GIS SOFTWARE PLATFORM:
Based on the client specifications and scope of work on the project, ESRI / AED - SICAD software platforms of ArcGIS, ArcSDE and ArcFM UT were used to perform the responsibilities of the scope; through a remote VPN access.
Data was captured from hard copy and digital maps using the ArcFM UT GIS software. As the client manages four large electric distribution areas in Germany, homogeneity of data as a key requirement was matched by our ArcFM UT teams.

Positional accuracy, Cartographic quality and Quality of the content and relevant components were specially taken care of. In-built Quality Analysis / Reporting toolsets within Arc FM UT were used to making sure that the data hence created, was as per the stringent error tolerance limitations in the scope of work. Being an Electric utility client, the tolerance on positional accuracies and cartographic quality was 1% [in relation to the number of dimensioning values contained in a specific reference area of coverage] and is maintained. Safety related error tolerances of 40 cms were also strictly adhered as per the Electric / Power sector IT standards.
Data Capture / Dimensioning / Documentation for the following components of the system:
Cable
High Voltage
Medium-High Voltage
Low Voltage
House Connections
Lighting Systems
Communication Paths
Open-Wire Lines
Medium-High Voltage
Low Voltage
House Connection
Lighting Systems
Communication Paths
The dimensions on the raster maps provided were accurately captured, drawn at their final position pointing to reference objects like buildings, parcels, cables etc. Adjustments were made to dimensioning texts to avoid overlap with other objects on the network map.
PIXEL ArcFM UT team placed all cable and ducts, annotations, capturing the relevant cross-sections in the network.
Leveraging on over a decade of experience & expertise in the United States on GIS based Utility Network Management practice;
PIXEL provides clients with a quality Electric Utility GIS system on-time, within the planned budget and an ever diligent focus on their ROI on the overall project.
